Pleasant Hearth Pellet Stove 50,000 BTUs, Cabinet Style Review

This cabinet style Pleasant Hearth pellet stove model PH50CABPS provides a heat output of 50,000 BTU and a 120 lb. hopper, ideal for zonal heating and small to medium sized properties, up to 2,200 sq/ft for 24 to 70-hours of non-stop heat.

This pellet burning stove features a chrome handle, an air wash system for cleaner air, solid cast iron door with the arched decor, ceramic glass viewing area, and a 5-year limited warranty, most internal components are for 1-year. Due to this limited warranty for many parts we recommend purchasing an extended warranty.

This units supplies you with 5 heat settings that give you some nice control for modulating your pellet stove. This unit is clean and compact with dimensions of 21.5″ x 24″ x 30″.

The pellet stove has a convection blower, an outside air kit and is EPA Certified. Owners mention that the blower can be quite loud so keep that in mind with where you want to install.

Comments about the sheet metal being thin and that rust has started to develop after the first season of use which may become an issue for you if your stove is going to be in a high humidity environment.

Overall owners really like the aesthetics of this Pleasant Hearth pellet stove, they appreciate the size of the hopper, although many mention that it doesn’t hold nearly as many pellets as the company claims.

The customer service department of GHP Group, Pleasant Hearth’s parent company, doesn’t receive the best rating which is something to consider when making such an expensive purchase. If you decide to take this model home, make sure to purchase the extended warranty that your retailer should be able to provide you with.
