Zero Breeze Mark II Review

Zero Breeze Mark II Review

For many of us, when traveling, camping, and pitching up to make the most of the great outdoors, having a portable AC unit to hand is a huge benefit.

For this reason, selecting the best battery powered portable AC unit for the job is crucial.

A fantastic price of technology, a portable unit like this is the more practical of designs when it comes to moving around. However, by operating on a battery, a portable AC unit eliminates the need for a power point, allowing it to be used for a variety of purposes.

Yet, with such an innovative of designs, understandably comes a higher than usual price tag. So, you’ll want to be certain that the AC unit you choose offers some of the highest of specifications and is one which will really go the distance.

For this reason, we’ve reviewed the Zero Breeze Mark II. Claimed to be the best portable AC unit on the current marketplace, here we take a further look at this unit’s features, benefits, and overall reviews.

Where You Can Use Battery Powered Air Conditioners

With more and more of us heading out to the great outdoors regularly, and of course, traveling throughout the seasons, potable AC units have never been in such demand. The most common places people prefer to use them include:

  • Camping out in a tent
  • Staying in a cabin
  • Staying in an RV
  • Traveling in the car or truck
  • Outside at the beach or in your backyard

The Zero Breeze Mark II Portable Outdoor Air Conditioner

The Zero Breeze Mark II is a portable and battery-operated cooling system that its designers believe is ideal for those looking for instant cooling relief while on the go.

With a battery working time of that around five hours approximately, not only does the Zero Breeze work to cool the immediate area, it also doubles up as a dehumidifier.

Best of all, this is one portable AC unit that not only works inside but can be used successfully outside as well.

Weight

A more compact of designs to ensure all-round practicality, the Zero Breeze model is also extremely lightweight. Weighing in at a mere 12 pounds, this is a small model type.

Cooling Capacity

The cooling capacity of the Zero Breeze offers 1,000 BTUs, which is British Thermal Units. This is slightly less than the recommended average for a portable AC unit type of 5,000 BTUs.

Power Source

It’s worth noting that though the Zero Breeze operates on a simple AC/DC power adapter or battery, the smart battery is not included with this model. It only comes complete with your purchase when you buy the Plus model.

Therefore, you’ll need to factor this into your costs when planning to run the unit this way. A smart battery generally tends to retail around the $300 price tag, and most can’t be interchanged with other battery models.

Also, the charging time of such batteries will fall within the five-hour mark. For this reason, most customers recommend purchasing at last two of these batteries if you intend to use batteries as your main power source.

Noise level

With experts suggesting an ideal comfortable noise level anywhere between 50 to 60 decibels, the Zero Breeze sits contentedly here at around 55 to 65 decibels.

The exact rating is dependent on what setting you have the unit on, but in general, this provides a moderate to quiet noise level whatever you have it set to. This is, therefore, ideal when in use during those smaller spaces and also good should you need to run the unit throughout the night.

Area coverage

Because of the lower than average 1,000 BTU rating of the Zero Breeze, the area coverage is understandably reduced. Though the unit is capable of covering an area of approximately 50 square feet, this range may be reduced outdoors or when in a tent.

This is simply because cool air will escape easier here. However, as this is a portable AC unit, this area coverage is enough to provide just the right amount of cooling comfort.

EER Level

If it’s a more energy-efficient of products you’re after, the Zero Breeze is ultra-efficient with an EER of 4. This makes it a relatively low runner, which accounts for its streamlined design and, indeed, lighter weight.

Working Temperature

With a working temperature of less than 104° F, the Zero Breeze can provide adequate cooling relief ranging from 90℉ to 72℉. However, one slight drawback is that unlike many other AC models, this one doesn’t offer a built-in thermostat. So, you won’t be able to determine your preferred temperature.

Additional Features

For most satisfied customers, the Zero Breeze tends to get it spot on when it comes to the many additional features it boasts of. With plentiful extras as standard, here you can access LED lights, a Bluetooth speaker, and two USB charging ports. With most people nowadays keen to access such features, especially when out and about and traveling, the Zero Breeze rates very highly indeed!

The Many Pros of the Zero Breeze Model

  • A lightweight and most portable model at just 12 pounds
  • Offers a cooling system as well as a dehumidifying process
  • Has a good low EER level
  • Can be set up with ease and used immediately out of the box
  • Is a quiet runner
  • Has many fantastic beneficial extras
  • Offers the choice of a smart battery operation or AC/DC adapter
  • Is an easy to clean model

The Potential Cons of the Zero Breeze Model

  • For those who would prefer to use the unit on battery, the smart battery for this model is sold separately
  • This battery takes five hours to charge fully
  • Has a relatively low BTU compared to similar model types, therefore cooling a smaller area in the process
  • It comes with a high price tag!

Overall, the Zero Breeze is the most efficient and worthwhile investment if you find yourself traveling and camping out in an RV, tent, or cabin. Though it does come with a rather heavy price tag, the efficiency, performance, and indeed extra features included are, for many users, certainly worth that additional cost.
